We need to be very clear when we discuss our football program. We are the worst football program in the nation. Not "one of the worst." We are the absolute worst.

Agree.  Sadly, I don't think Judy and Phil give a rat's ass.  They just want to brag that they brought us football.  Judy is now concentrating on her women's sports and Phil is too busy kissing the ass of those in chapel hill.

Major reshuffling this week following losses by UTSA and LA Tech, etc. North Texas new #1 this week, followed by #2 Marshall and #3 Southern Miss.

Next Niner foe WKU comes in at #9. Hilltoppers dropped two spots after ekeing out victory over winless UTEP.

Quote
13. Charlotte (0-6, 0-2, LW: #13)
After making so much progress on offense against FIU, the 49ers were shutdown by the Herd. Charlotte isnít the first school to be outnumbered by Marshall fans in their own stadium and they wonít be the last, but itís concerning nonetheless that Charlotte fans have appeared to checkout halfway through the season.

Goddamit! I'm sick and tired of these lies about being outnumbered by visiting fans. It's bullshit and these writers need to be called on it. Maybe by our AD? What a thought. Damn them! Damn them all!

Believe it or not, we have someone at the school responsible for media relations.  I assume you also realize some of these writers get their info on teams from the team's hometown paper.

Also, "the weather was not exactly ideal" implying that Marshal being held to 14 had something to do with the (non existent) rain. Idiot!

"The South Florida twins are the only teams in C-USA East with a conference win. WKU is 0-1 and no longer appears to be the juggernaut weíre accustomed to seeing. MTSU is 0-1 and dealing with injuries to their star players and Charlotte, is well Charlotte."

We don't even merit a sentence in their CUSA East analysis, truly sad.

From Cyrus Smith at Underdog Dynasty.

Quote
Three things we learned from Conference USA in Week Eight
FAU is the real deal... Charlotte is NOT the worst team in C-USA... Never count out Southern Miss in the Rivalry in Dixie.

Charlotte avoids a winless season
For one week, the fire Brad Lambert fan club will have to settle down as the Charlotte 49ers defeated the UAB Blazers in overtime for a 25-24 win. The 49ers put it all on the line by going for two in overtime and used a trick play to get the job done.

At one point Charlotte trailed 17-0 near the end of the third quarter. Obviously the comeback victory is telling. The 49ers didnít quit in the slightest and the coaching staff, at least for a week, made the right decisions and put the players in the right position for the win.

Charlotte can only play the role of spoiler from here on out and theyíve lived up to the role as UAB is now a longshot to win C-USA West. It was weird to see a Blazers team play with a sense of complacency. The hunger and drive we saw weeks prior just wasnít there and it proved to be costly.

The Blazers arenít talented enough to play through the motions and win. Charlotte was hungrier last night, and thatís why the 49ers got their first win of the season.

Shakeup in Underdog Dynasty rankings after North Texas got thumped by Florida Atlantic. Marshall moves to #1 with FAU vaulting to #2.

Niners now #12 following win over UAB.
Quote
12. Charlotte (1-7, 1-3, LW: #13)
They freaking did it. The 49ers snapped their seven-game losing streak to start the season by doing to UAB what no other team has done so far. Play with more heart. Ben DeLucaís strip was the epitome of that heart as it looked like Spencer Brown was going to run the clock out for Blazers. Hasaan Klugh was dynamic as a runner with 140 yards and two touchdowns and looked like the player from last year. I loved seeing Brad Lambert go for the win and Iím happy to see the decision was rewarded with the go-ahead score. Always go for two yíall.

After a month of co-number 2s, Ed Miller has a clear #1 in Marshall. Niners #12, though Miller somewhat confused over mascots!

Rankings shakeup again after the "South Florida Twins" respectively thumped traditional C-USA powers Marshall and WKU over the weekend. Florida Atlantic new #1 while Herd falls all the way to #6.

Niners still #12 and next opponent ODU is #10.

The 49ers were on a bye week and will take on Old Dominion. Somehow Brad Lambert appears to be in the clear for 2018, but he should get one more win just to be safe.
