OK folks - we do a lot of bitching - I mean a lot, about not really having places in town that are dedicated Niner bars.  Places that will turn off other games for ours.

Well as many of you know a few of us frequent the Belfast Mill (in the Latta Courtyard, near Roma Bearden Park).  We have gotten to know the owner and staff really well.  They have hosted us for basketball games and football games.  We have brought them some great business.

They approached me a few weeks ago with an idea to do a Niner Homecoming Celebration.  This was all their idea.  I said absolutely!!   So here we have a place in town that has and is willing to make us a priority.  We aren't giving them any money to get top billing, they just want to do this.  We need to reward them by showing them some love.

Please consider stopping by Belfast on 10/20, hanging with some Niners and meeting the Belfast staff.  They are offering some drink specials and I am going to try and get some stuff to giveaway or raffle off.

Thanks guys!

I would be shocked if he remembers me, but we used to stumble into Belfast after nights of drinking with regularity in college.  The best folks around.  I need to get better about getting off my couch and showing up at these.

You are correct Rob, we have somebody that supports us.  Let's support em back.

Great idea by the staff.  I will gladly come by next Friday as I trot out of work.

Any specifics on time yet?

I live and work in uptown and have been yearning for a Charlotte 49ers based bar (ECU, USC, Clemson, Penn State, all has a presence in uptown)

Have this down on my calendar, I like the french quarter area, so it looks like a good area to start my friday night. Just looking for specifics on time.

I will be out of town for this but will be checking in on line. I love the idea of finally having a Niners bar somewhere in Charlotte. It is awfully depressing knowing that not a single place outside of UCity (and even the ones that do, dont even show the games)supports the local University . If more events occur I will def be interested in attending.

Time listed is 9-12, but I know me and a few others will be there well before that.

A heads up they don't have food, but you can bring what ever food you like in.

Was anybody else aware of this?

I find it laughable (and sad) I found this out because of Charlotte Agenda and ya know... not my own alumni association!

AA does something every year - their events arent bad, but typically they charge for attendance because they have to pay the place that they are being hosted and they try to have some food and beer/wine included.

Watching the Niners does occasionally require AA
