Moving closer to reality.

NCAA.com: College basketball: Council introduces start-of-season change proposal

Niner fans will be happy about this........"The calendar change would provide a little bit of relief from compaction in the calendar, she said. It moves the first game from conflicts with volleyball and football and puts a little bit more of the spotlight on basketball student-athletes as we start the season.

MVC votes to add Valpo.
And now the Horizon League gets to decide what path they want to take with the loss of the Crusaders.

IUPUI reportedly offered an invitation to join the Horizon as replacement for Valpo. Would insure the league maintains an Indiana presence and in the HQ city of Indianapolis to boot!
IUPUI to Horizon now official.

CBSSports.com: The Horizon League picks IUPUI to replace Valpo and might add more teams in future

And Summit, which will add North Dakota in 2018, may be looking to expand further as well.

Keep politics out of conf. realignment.  Certain people tweeted B12 not to let in BYU over their LGBT views.  No one wants to talk politics at a ball game.

Just a thought. LDS was originally thought of as a cult. Some still think they are. Their founders were killed and followers run out of NY state. They ended up in Utah to escape and set up in the wilderness. Now they are pretty much mainstream, but that would not have happened until they officially dropped the polygamy part of their beliefs. As we know some still practice polygamy as part of this religion, but it's not part of the church's "official" tenants now.
