In what round are most of you picking Rivers up?

I have him as a keeper from my team last year, and last year in my scoring format (ESPN), he was 2nd as a QB behind only Brees.  LT will be in better shape this year so he might lose a few numbers here and there but will largely be worth a high round pick.  I'd be surprised to see him last beyond the 3rd rd.

I don't think Witten will have his usual year, teams will just double cover him now.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what happens.  I expect Williams to step up some this year, to help fill the TO void.  And they're saying Bennet had a great preseason, so you may see them line up 2 TEs at times.

I think Normmm was probably right all along, we'll be really good next year.

He's been going in my leagues from late 2nd to early 4th. Typically in early 3rd.

8-man league this year
RB's weighted heavy at 1pt/10yds plus TD's

Problem I have is that everyone had all the stud RB's as keepers so I don't love my depth beyond Grant/Slaton.  The top 3 RB's that were free agents were Peterson, S. Jackson and S. Slaton.  Then it dropped down to guys like Portis, Westbrook and Jacobs before scrubs were available.  I don't like my chances but we'll see...

QB:  Aaron Rodgers (keeper); Brett Favre
RB:  R. Grant, S. Slaton, T. Jones, W. Parker, J. Lewis, J. Jones
WR/TE:  A. Johnson (keeper), V. Jackson, R.E. Williams, D. Driver, M. Clayton, J. Witten
K:  Elam; Folk
D:  Eagles; Chargers

We use flex positions, so most weeks, I'll be starting Grant, Slaton, best RB matchup, A. Johnson, R. Willams/J. Witten.

Since none of you guys are in any of my leagues, the sleeper of this draft is Matt Hasselbeck.

There I said it.

12 team, pretty close to standard scoring (only differences are 2 points per 5 receptions and DEF get 1 point per 25 return yards):

QB: Schaub
RB: S. Jackson
RB: Kevin Smith
RB/WR: Leon Washington
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Dwayne Bowe
WR/TE: Lance Moore
TE: Greg Olsen
DEF: Chargers
K: Carney

BEN: Jason Campbell, Derrick Ward, Mendenhall, Norwood, James Davis, Josh Morgan, Chris Henry

I felt a lot better about this team before the Bucs decided to use Cadillac Williams, we drafted pretty early so Ward looked like a great #3 at the time.

Will only post the big money league:

14 teams.  Standard Scoring, 6 pts per passing TD, flex.

QB: Palmer
RB: AP, Ronnie Brown, Ray Rice, Sproles, Chester Taylor, Cadillac
WR: Jennings, Vincent Jackson, Eddie Royal, Laverneus Coles, Josh Morgan
TE: Boss
K: Rackers
DEF: Redskins

Putting alot of stock in not carrying backups at QB.  Hoping for a breakout RB on the bench to turn into trade bait for a QB.

Just traded Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams for Frank Gore and the Philly D.

Also dropped Morgan for Trent Edwards.

So now the team looks like:

QB: Palmer, Edwards
RB: AP, Frank Gore, Ray Rice, Sproles, Chester Taylor
WR: Jennings, Vincent Jackson, Eddie Royal, Laverneus Coles
TE: Boss
K: Rackers
DEF: Eagles, Redskins

Anyone else pulling off trades this early in the season?

Strong trade and good pickup of Edwards.  Surprised he was on the wire in a 14 team league.  You have to be a huge favorite in this league especially since it seems like you play with idiots.

I pulled off a trade where I received Romo for J Lewis but my leaguemates vetoed it.  Bummer.  As good as Schaub played this week perhaps I don't need him.

12 PPR league.  Auction style draft with what I paid after each player.  You can see my basic strategy of getting a lot of second tier players instead of blowing $70 on AP.  I'll take Westbrook, Johnson, and Rice all day over AP,  Derrick Ward, and Ricky Williams.

QB Matt Schaub 9
RB Ray Rice 27
RB Chris Johnson 47
RB/WR Brian Westbrook 35
WR/TE Braylon Edwards 19
WR/TE Vincent Jackson 21
WR/TE DeSean Jackson 20
D/ST Jets D/ST 1 - now own Washington Redskins
K Nick Folk 1
BE Ahmad Bradshaw 11
BE Jamal Lewis 2
BE David Garrard 4 - now own Big Ben
BE Steve Smith 1
BE Mike Bell 1
BE Justin Gage 1
Total: 200

I am getting a little concerned about Rice.  He's getting decent points but not quite what I paid.  Stupid Willis McGahee is getting all of the goal line carries.

12 team league (Standard scoring except 6pts for TD pass instead of 4)

QB - Phillip Rivers
WR1 - Percy Harvin
WR2 - Andre Johnson
WR3 - Santana Moss
RB1 - Chris Johnson
RB2 - Pierre Thomas
TE - Brent Celek
K - John Carney
DEF - Minnesota
BN - Brett Favre
BN - Lendale White
BN - Knowshon Moreno
BN - Brandon Marshall
BN - Johnathan Stewart
BN - Dustin Keller

Completely agree.  Rice is the best running back on that team, but McGahee is pulling a Thomas Jones this year.

Sproles is now becoming a better option than Rice.

Picked up Edwards before week 1.  There's two other teams that are stacked, too.  So a little worried.  Only 6 teams go to playoffs, with top 2 getting byes.
