Just wanted to let Bust know that I'm still here and will be back in three years or less (If Major gets fired) to take my medicine for my "bombastic and over the top comments". I'm sure I'll be proven wrong, Major won't be fired and proudly takes us to the sweet sixteen...thus proving that I was an idiot. I know alot of people said I would not "face the music" so to speak , when I was wrong. I know you guys are alot smarter than I am....so I'm still here to take my punishment. Hope I'm wrong....Like a wiser, younger man said "three years will be here faster than you think."...bated breath.

For the ten man I would have it:

PG - Henry and Luka.
SG - Deuce and Mayfield (So cut out Green and T Will. T-Will due to age, although he did look good at fan day. Green because he shoots 27%.)
SF - JB and E Vick
PF - Braz and K.J
C - Thorne and Ivan

I think your starting 5 as for most of the OOC will be Luka (he had a year of practice) Duece, JB, Braz, Ivan

Cut Green out!?!?

I think Normmm was probably right all along, we'll be really good next year.

Outside of Nickerson and maybe transfer Mayfield....not much to look at.

Close...well not really. Nickerson sucked. Henry started every game he was available. Mayfield was good. Williams evolved better than everyone expected, we redshirted another, and when the bear got in the game late in the season he was beyond serviceable.

Uh..dude. The main point was that I am not impressed with his recruiting, his coaching or leadership skills. And he will 1) not take us to the NCAA tourney in 3 years from the date of my original post in this thread...2) That is if he doesn't get fired first. One or the other WILL happen. That was the thrust of the argument. I was simply giving props to Mayfield and Nickerson for appearing to be the best recruits  of the group. As it turns out that was half right.
Again, once BL's guys are gone...we are gonna really suck, I think. My bump is letting "Bust" know I'm not affraid to take my medicine when the time comes in two years. Just checking in... in my usual bombastic, over the top way. See ya in 6-12 months...later. Peace.

Not impressed with his recruiting? Who do you think we are? We're not the kind of program that can bring in 4 freshman and have them all contribute at a high level year 1. There are only a handful of programs that can do that.

We landed 1 top 150 recruit in Lutz's last three years. Major landed 2 in two classes and another who was top 150 before he had a serious leg injury that may have prevented him from ever playing again.

I'll admit that I haven't been overly impressed with his coaching ability so far, but I can't really hate on his recruiting.

NN...I truly believe you know your stuff when it comes to recruiting, but who was a Top 150 out of Major's class when they inked with us out of high school. I thought Nick fell out his senior year. The only other one I can think of is Lester, maybe? Was he a Rivals, Scout or ESPN Top 150? Just curious. But the bottom line is you are saying he is a good recruiter and you are using a former coach who got fired as a measuring stick. That doesn't give me a lot of confidence there:). Do you truly feel like he is recruiting the talent and size needed to win the A10 and compete for an at-large bid to the dance? Once Bras is gone, who's gonna replace him? My measuring stick for recruiting is by looking at who we go up against and win for recruits. Here lately(imho) it's low major schools. I realize that we can't be expected to recruit like we used to in the CUSA, but we can expect results similar to other top tier A10 schools. Otherwise, what's the point?
I'm glad we agree on AM's suspect coaching and leadership skills, though. Later....I will report back once again to take my embarassment for my over the top comments to Bust last year :p

You're right, Nickerson did drop out of top 150 on Rivals. I knew he dropped out of top 100 on ESPN, but I was thinking he stayed in the Rivals 150.

Only Lester remained in the top 150.

I do feel like he is recruiting the kind of players required to win the A10, but like I said before, I'm not sure he's the coach that can make them good enough to actually do it.

We'll see next year. If we're bad next year, my patience will be gone.

You have to be able to motivate your team.  I want a coach that kids love to play for.  A coach they can look up to, who they will fight for, who they love.  I don't see that in Coach Major.

Very true and clearly evident that the coach player relationships on this team is horrible. Even Major's recruits don't respond to Major. Thats really bad. :(

a few thoughts. first, kj still isnt getting enough credit on the board for his performance. if he keeps playing like this we will all enjoy watching him play in the nba in a few years. offensively, rebounding, shot blocking he does it all. second, barnett and the entire backcourt dissapeared. this makes me think nickerson may indeed start next season over barnett. why did we not pressure the ball like la salle did to us? i think we are gonna see some major lineup changes next season with the eight new guys coming in. braswells lack of touch around the rim is embarrasing. if he makes half of those bunnies he has twenty at the half. to me kj is our best player and has the best long term potential.

i could see mayfield starting, maybe at times over briscoe but i do think that long term, briscoe is a better starter than green. isnt mayfield a point guard? barnett got shut down because he cant dribble drive and he missed a wide open three when we were down three so yeah he disappeared. hes a good player, and has improved greatly but i think that long term is a 6th. or 7th. man not a starter.  i think next year we could see multiple starting lineups. ive never been as excited for a player as i am with kj. i think he could go down as our best big guy ever. yeah, there i said it. what i saw last night was a young jason maxiell. let me also ask a question. why is kj, and maybe colby, the only ones that go for offensive rebounds on missed shots?

He is not better than Cedric Maxwell or Rodney White.

i didnt say he is, but he will be. he is better now than withers was as a sophomore. the only thing he lacks is elite height but he makes up for that with length and athletisism. i think at the least, mayfield will give us defense and athletisism, two things that are lacking from this team. nickerson should give us the length, size and athletisism and shooting ability that we lack from our small forward position. we dont lose much in terms of seniors.

I think Normmm was probably right all along, we'll be really good next year.

I thought the guys played hard last year and didn't quit on Major.

A few sucked so Major quit on them- they happen to be gone (and no I do not include Briscoe in this- he needs to go to a better situation for him).
