This guy.

Love Bobby, great guy, but.............no. That ship has sailed. Bobby hasn't had to recruit without the ACC moniker backing him up in a decade. He was struggling to recruit the A10, CUSA 3.0 won't be kind to him.

CHP was a major hindrance to Bobby's coaching.

Feel same way. He struggled recruiting to the A10, which was even at the time a stronger conference with more recognizable programs than the current CUSA. Lutz had long success here at Charlotte earlier in his career, it ought to be possible to celebrate that without calling for him to return to a worse situation.

Bobby can have a key to my house, he can borrow my car, and I will buy him lunch--he is a great guy--but there were reasons we parted ways, and there are reasons that he has not landed another HC job.  This thread makes no sense.

I still like Levelle Moton at NC Central.  He was my choice when Price was hired.  However he would never work here because he is too outspoken to serve under Judy and Phil.

I find it hard to believe we will actually find a decent replacement.  Judy doesn't have the gumption to actually take a chance on a big hire.  We will get another asst from a mid-tier team and hope to catch lightening in a bottle.  Best case scenario we are half decent and he bolts for a better job at the first opportunity.  Personally, I would like to see us go for a retread older coach who can build some credibility and won't be looking to jump the first chance he has.

John Thompson 3 is the first name that pops into my mind who fits that bill.  I am sure with how content is our administration is with being the definition of irrelevant, they will not even consider a name any common sports fan is familiar with.  Maybe it will be another decade and a half until we are relevant.  

A hundred bucks that no one discussed in this thread will be our new coach.

Some unknown low key guy that initially flatters Judy in some way.

I felt the same until I looked at their schedule and record this year. Not very good at all. Possibly just a fluke year though.

Hereís and idea. Someone other than Judy Rose makes the selection and we hire someone who has had some actual head coaching success at some level of basketball.

Maybe that will work.

The people here who want to say No to Lutz 2.0 refuse to look at his resume from Iowa St and NC State as associate HC - impressive.

Wins...losses....style of play.....recruiting....etc...that all can be debated.

I just miss his attitude.

He had an attitude PERFECT for us.  He EXPECTED us to beat the ACC...and alot of his teams played with that same mentality and aggressiveness.

We haven't had that "chip on our shoulder" mentality since he left.

I want THAT back more than anything...and during his run...he had it by the truckloads.

I don't want Lutz back and he would never come back, at least as long as judy and Phil are here.

So impressive that the Wolfpack removed him from coaching duties and now he's an assistant in the Gatorade League!

Lest anyone forgets, the first 5 years of our current NCAA Tournament drought belong to Lutz.

Lutz talk is pointless.  Regardless of your feelings on him he isn't coming back here as long as Judy and most importantly Phil are here.  Not happening.  Move on with the discussion.

I really donít think Judy will hire our next coach.

Iím predicting that Judy is fired in March and that we hire a new AD to make this important hire. Then Lambert will be fired right after the football season. This time next year we have a new AD, new MBB coach and new FB coach.

No to Lutz.  Okay, I could handle having him back, but not the assistants he would hire.
