Dentonrc.com: Chalk talk: Charlotte at UNT

Conferenceusa.com: MBB: Jan. 2 Players of the Week (Player of the Week:  Roosevelt Smart, North Texas)

Plus some interesting stuff from ODU beatwriter Ed Miller since the Monarchs are our travel partner, including this tidbit:
Quote
When ODU (10-3, 1-0 CUSA) plays Thursday at Rice and Saturday at North Texas, it will likely be in front of just a couple thousand people at each place. The Owls average 2,386 for home games, the Mean Green 1,946.

Fancher may not win 5 more games this season, but I like his style.  The first step in fixing a problem is admitting you have one, and he doesn't mince words.

We’ll win a few more just because CUSA is awful and we have four games with Florida twins....and surely Davis will heal up.

Charlotteobserver.com: Milos Supica’s layup in final seconds gets Charlotte 49ers past North Texas, 70-68

Dentonrc.com: UNT falls short as Charlotte escapes with last-second win
That last sequence was awful. White taking a bad and way too early shot and NT standing around allowing Supica the easy put back.
Glad the one guy on the floor doing good was our guy.  ;D

Took OT for ODU to beat Rice 82-75 so Owls may be a tougher out than their 3-13 record indicates.

clt Is feeling good about this one. Rice is bad, and carbs make you fat?

Charlotte needs this W. Gotta show they can beat lesser teams like Rice. A win gets them to 2-1 in conference heading into a game vs Marshall who is currently 2-0, makes it a key game early on in the CUSA race.

Reality is we have to stop looking at Teams like Rice as lesser teams.  We are the lesser team, the lesser program. We are part of the reason his is a terrible conference.  It's a very sad state.
