Per Twitter, Nick Konawalik (Marketing lead) is leaving the AD to take a new position elsewhere. I can only assume this is what Nugget was referring to.
This is it.  Not huge news, but there is so much untapped opportunity in that position that it really matters who fills the job.  I have always felt like we should look at Minor League Baseball teams for this position.  Nobody works harder to put fans in the stands than these people, and our budget would probably dwarf theirs.

Id love to look at minor league teams, but as others have said - as long as the person named Judy dictates how they can market teams and investment money it really isn't going to matter who we hire.  This position should not be handcuffed by administration with how they execute to get people in the door for our two primary revenue generating sports - everything else is secondary.

Time for a gigantic push for Thamba.
Not ghana happen in my opinion with the teams already after him.

Even if Judy doesn’t leave immediately I think this whole effort will have a positive impact on Niner athletics. They know now results are more important than ever and we have fans that are going to stay on them every step of the way. The “letter from the desk of Judy Rose” thing is positive proof the fan pressure is real.

Here's what I would like to see:

1)  A genuine effort to increase the fan base and 49er club.  Reach out to our alumnae - our university is so bad at this in general.  There are so many alumnae out there that have had no contact from the university in decades.  I'm not one of them, but there are so many.

2)  A genuine effort to increase interest from the students.  Build fans for tomorrow starting with the students you have today.  We had some sort of program about 10 years ago, and we used to have great student support.  They were organized too.  What happened?  Why did it stop?

3)  A better effort marketing the revenue sports.  Prioritize the money makers first, and let them elevate the non-revenue sports.  Our priorities should be something like this:
     Football / Men's basketball
     Baseball / Men's soccer / Women's basketball

Anything else while we're at it?

At Oktoberfest a guy at my table said the banner was sexist. I, probably too aggressively, said it would be sexist not fly the banner.

That guy was an idiot.

That being said, we have to be very careful if we're going to continue to campaign against her. We have to make it abundantly clear that our issues with Mrs. Rose lie in the results both on the field and in the coffers. Those that are inclined to keep the status quo will jump at any chance to bring feminism into this. We're coming to the point that we need to make sure we have a unified message to avoid having our reasons misconstrued or misrepresented.

Agree with this.  She has much more reach than we do and can change the narrative in her favor.

I'm not going to let the PC Police deter me from doing anything. The mediocrity of the athletic department speaks for itself. I'm sure some will disagree with me and that's too bad...

Why would a cop clap in your face?  He/she only cares about security, not Judy.  That's crazy.  That being said, y'all ain't worth getting shot over.

I'm assuming since I stood up for the Fire Judy guys, he thought I wanted us to lose. If that was his line of thinking, I feel bad for him.

NA, at her age, at her tenure, with her spouse retired, how can she not consider it?

Three things we learned from Conference USA in Week Eight
FAU is the real deal... Charlotte is NOT the worst team in C-USA... Never count out Southern Miss in the Rivalry in Dixie.

Charlotte avoids a winless season
For one week, the fire Brad Lambert fan club will have to settle down as the Charlotte 49ers defeated the UAB Blazers in overtime for a 25-24 win. The 49ers put it all on the line by going for two in overtime and used a trick play to get the job done.

At one point Charlotte trailed 17-0 near the end of the third quarter. Obviously the comeback victory is telling. The 49ers didn’t quit in the slightest and the coaching staff, at least for a week, made the right decisions and put the players in the right position for the win.

Charlotte can only play the role of spoiler from here on out and they’ve lived up to the role as UAB is now a longshot to win C-USA West. It was weird to see a Blazers team play with a sense of complacency. The hunger and drive we saw weeks prior just wasn’t there and it proved to be costly.

The Blazers aren’t talented enough to play through the motions and win. Charlotte was hungrier last night, and that’s why the 49ers got their first win of the season.

Great decision to go for two, with our kicking situation we didn’t stand much of chance if it became an extended OT.

DeLuca just wow. What a great play.

Since Lambert is from Kansas I’m sure he remembers the 1984 Orange Bowl when Tom Osborne of Nebraska went for two to win the National Championship. Nebraska didn’t convert but it is still remembered today as one of the all time gutsiest calls.
