I get what you are saying, but they'll go Division IA in 4 years, bottom line, we are using scare tactics if we honestly think it takes $400 per student.

Where have you seen $400?  The only two numbers that have ever been mentioned in the study are $250 and $300.
Can I get an $820??  Going once...

The line isn't forming outside the coaches doors from top notch recruits wanting to play for Charlotte either, but the coaches get out and get them.

Clearly the mission of the foundation should be changed from "supporting 49er student athletes" to "supporting club amenities for the members".  Since we are all in this together, how many new members have you brought to the table?  Oh that's right, that's someone elses job -- yours is to make sure you get a tangible return on your investment.

Folks.  This is what uncc is up against 28 years.

Smack Talk / Re: UAB football #24 in BCS poll

Too-Lame???

Well I guess Charlotte and UAB have the following in common:

Both will never play in a BCS bowl

Both can't beat Tulane in football (although at least WE can in basketball)

Both school lose about $6.5 million dollars in athletics propping up a football program no one wants (my bad, that's only UAB)

Conclusion:

Another mediocre season.  Better keep giving out the FREE tickets with every Happy Meal.

When Gerrity becomes eligble, look for those ally-oops to Coley to get flushed.  Gerrity is faster than Harris and presents more defensive problems because of his scoring ability.  We will be a tough out in the A-10 this year.

Gotta love full of s*** ADs on chat pages

Coach Major is not a huge fan of the summer league.  Wouldn't tell a kid not to play, but would prefer they didn't.  Being a fundamentals guy, most all summer league games turn into hot dogging and bad basketball, therefore why encourage that environment?  Doubt you see an emphasis on it in the future.  As an fyi, the guys are playing a lot on campus and all are in summer sessions.
. Really man...

App State has no FBS home.  At this point, no one is showing any interest in them.  Unlikely to happen unless they become part of a start up FBS league.
Ummmm.   :-\

I would think that most of us on this board would support our child quitting a team if it were their parent that got fired.  You would want to protect your child from all the backlash, having to answer questions, etc.  You may not have like Price or Hudson, but he was our best player the first nine games by far.  He was the only one keeping us in games sometimes.  As it has been mention, the player that has taken his place could not play defense against a middle school team.

clt says you were watching another player than clt. he had no reason to start, and the team is better without him
I agree. He just played the most minutes. Good riddance to both Price's

I don't think Hudson was great but he was better than Ajukwa.  I'd trade Ajukwa for him in a heartbeat.
. With a really good center and a bunch of newcomers, Price did OK in his first year.  In fact I think he overachieved.  When this bunch of crybaby quitters decided to rebel against Price, it's set us back what may be years to right this ship.  I admit Price didn't handle the mutiny well but for all of you criticizing the Price's, you don't know how difficult the situation had become behind the scenes.  Price's coaching skills didn't get a fair shake and that's my beef with Judy's knee jerk decision.    I can see it now. Fancher is let go which probably means coach Simovic too.  Will the Serbs stay? I doubt it.  That pipeline to Europe may be our ace in the hole but I'm afraid that door is about to close.  One bad decision after another, will it ever end?

I might be wrong, but where did I say I know you?  To my knowledge I have never met you, but I do know who you are as you have revealed it in any number of ways during baseball discussions.  I consider all of the above Niners, because they bought in to us.  Is Coach K a Blue Devil?  Didn't go to school there.  Don't you consider Danny Devos a Niner?  I do.  Charlotte will embrace us when we give them a reason to.  When we win in men's basketball, people show up.  When we don't, we are an afterthought.  And I don't understand what you really want.  You want alumni to steer the program, but to hire BCS types to high level jobs.  Aren't those mutually exclusive?  I think there are two actual alums on the admin staff, so its not as if they are non existent.

I think Metro is trying to say that the Atheletic Department needs a facelift.  Most of the people at key jobs have been around for sometime and have become comfortable in their ways.  I agree, we need some very intense and aggressive talent in the department to bring a new perspective to how we want this program to look over the next 2, 5, 10 years.
Good call Whit
