Ah, you are right. WKU came to mind since we hadn't played them yet.

Getting USM and UAB as our West opponents seems like a CUSA 1.0 nod, and seems almost intelligently intended to promote fan interest. I almost hope it's a permanent pairing, even though I don't believe that's the plan. Playing those two teams every year is almost like being in the same division with them, and reminds me of Tennessee's permanent cross division game with Bama, which also breeds a rivalry.

If any of this is CUSAs intent, good on them.

Have a good slate of home games. Hopefully we can get that first home FBS win.

Minium says UAB will host MTSU, which means we'll travel to Charlotte. I'll be there.

We'll be glad to have you. Maybe we can swap some NC and Alabama beer. Went to UAB for the College Cup and enjoyed my 3 days on and around campus.

I don't like doing predictions, but I think I should discuss what we need to happen, at a minimum:

1) First FBS home win
2) First CUSA home win
3) Winning at least 4 games

Really, I consider that a low bar, but it is adjusted from losing a ton of players including our first ever NFL draft pick (Go Larry!!!).

Can these things happen? #1 could be Ga State; #2 could be UAB; #3 could be those two plus A&T and @ EMU. We could always surprise and win another, but I think our road wins last year had everything to do with having a senior laden team. I don't anticipate repeating that success, but who knows?

It would be awfully nice for the fans, the staff, the players, and pretty much everyone involved and the city itself for the Niners to make a bowl this year. That's a very tall order though.

Will be nice to end the season @ home. Maybe with a bowl bid on the line.  8)

As long the d-line can replace Larry's production we should be right there in the bowl mix.

If the AD isn't offering $5 - $10 tickets for last game when the students are on break, every single one of them should be fired.

Less difficult to sell, but fall break is the monday/tuesday after Marshall.

Sorry. Was pointing out an additional case of timing with students out.

Am I correct to assume that October 21st versus UAB will likely be homecoming?

clt asks if we are running out of time to expand the stadium before the little appys come down the mountain?

Make the tickets $50 and don't offer a monthly payment plan and we won't have to worry about the appys.
Hey 49er undergrads, you are bigger than UNC-CH.  Start acting like it!

I honestly think we can get our first W at home vs an FBS opponent with GA ST or UAB/Marshall
Here are my predictions:
@E. Michigan -L(could see this being a W but no clue what they return)
@K State-L
A&T -W
Ga St- W
@ FIU -W(Davis is a decent hire, but year 1 may still be rough)
Marshall -W(for now, toss up really)
@ WKU -L
UAB -W(glad to see Blazer football back, but the Niners get the W)
@ODU -L
Midd. Tenn -L
@ So. Miss -W(toss up honestly)
FAU -W (honestly think we can beat them, but a toss up for me too)
6-6 is my prediction for now. Obviously just my opinion, but think we get to a bowl game in year 5
MAKE THE NINERS GREAT AGAIN!
