I know everyone is quite interested in where Larry gets drafted.. I thought it might be helpful to have all of the news in one spot.

Quote
Larry Ogunjobi, Charlotte: Ogunjobi has not yet drawn the attention that other defensive linemen in this class have, but he has the look of a long-term productive NFL player. He is an athletic interior defender—how’s a sub-5.0 40 at 6’ 3”, 305 lbs. sound? The Charlotte product showed off more of his quick footwork during the bag drill (the same one on which Riley tripped himself up), navigating the obstacles with ease. Ogunjobi probably will be a late Day 2 or Day 3 pick that winds up earning playing time early in his career.

No matter where he ends up, he deserves all the accolades coming to him.  Just a great player and by all accounts, a phenomenal human being.

With that said, if he ends up a Panther, I will probably get quite emotional and then instantly buy 1 jersey in every color with his name on it

Also, I just don't see Larry lasting to day 3. Most mocks have him 3rd round with a couple shading a bit towards 2nd.

If I had to guess today, I'd say around 70-80 (upper 3rd round). Things change though.

Agreed. I don't see him lasting past day 2. I think he's going to blow teams away when they bring him in for interviews, too. That'll boost him up more.

Great combine, Larry!

I sorted the stats..

There were 19 guys over 300 and an additional 8 guys who are 280 plus, those are his peers for the purposes of this event

  • Larry had the 7th fastest 40 time @4.97.. If you look at the 300lb+ group- he was 3rd fastest (also the biggest of the 300 guys to break 5).. Some of these other DL guys are looked at as combo's so they are a bit taller/lighter and expect to run faster
  • Larry had the highest vertical jump of the 19 300 LB guys, and 2nd out of the 27 interior guys.
  • Larry had the longest broad jump of the 19 300 LB guys, and 2nd out of the 27 interior guys.
  • Larry tied for 1st in the 3 cone drill and of the 19 300 LB guys, and they had the 4th best time out of the 27 interior guys
I think he showed very well athletically. And I'm certain he did well in the interview rooms. Really knocked it out between the Senior Bowl and the Combine.

Great post.  The presser he gave afterwards was candid and heartfelt, too.  Just very happy for him and his family and so thankful that he took a chance on our program.

clt will buy a Larry jersey unless he signs with a nfc south team other than the panthers. or the cowboys. or the seahawks.

Really had an outstanding combine. I was a little worried that his draft stock would take a hit after a quiet Senior Bowl, but he has likely shot up many boards over the weekend. My prediction is he goes at pick #60 to the Dallas Cowboys.
