I havenít seen that much pure excitement and joy on campus since the "Fire Judy" banner flew over during the tailgate.

Fixed

It was an awesome feeling to not be walking away from JR Stadium pissed off for a change.  Great Homecoming all around!!

1st Homecoming win
1st C-USA Home Win
1st FBS Home Win

And....in dramatic fashion in OT on a 2 point conversion involving a surprising, gutsy, creative play. I'm still relishing the moment.

We will never hear about it, but if we let Lambert go one of our first calls should be to Scott Satterfield at App.  He has a good thing going there, and App has a history and level of success that programs just 5 years in cannot match, but I think they are topped out.  Their location, general suckage in all other sports, and no momentum for realignment these days means he will likely continue to win around 10 games per year and be the toast of Boone, NC as long as he wants to stay there.  However, at Charlotte a coach like Satterfield could build a program that could become one of the best in NC and people would actually notice.  I know he played at App, but the mantra there is "we are happy with who we are", and I don't think that will be enough to keep him there.  The timing could be right for us, and nothing would make me laugh more than him in Green when we play the 'eers in 2018.
drinking hard on a Monday nugget?

We would need to pay triple what we do now. He makes roughly the same as Brad. Not going to have that type of commitment to winning with this administration.

Leaving a great situation at your Alma mater for a move down in terms of tradition and football success, even if there is more potential would take a ton of money. Conference difference is somewhat negligible too unfortunately.

Knowing he would have to work for Judy would also hurt our chances IMO.

I'm not as down on Nick as some of you guys are.  The shade of green thing is pretty inexcusable, but as somebody who has to manage stuff like this, you would not believe how hard it is to match colors sometimes.  Being a school the size we are, with as little recognition as we get, people don't have a lot of sympathy for us.

Nick also had his hands tied for much of his tenure.  We market women's sports more than anybody I've ever seen, and I'm 99.999% sure that's not his call.  At the end of the day he really did help market the football train well in my opinion.

He also had to market some of the worst teams I have ever seen produced by any team or franchise I've ever followed.  Our attendance hasn't been good, but I've certainly seen worse.  ECU put 1800 fans in their 60,000 seat stadium a few weeks back. That's not a typo.

In summary, he was handed chicken poop a lot, basically all the time, and he made chicken salad sometimes, and I appreciate that.  God Bless the next person to take that job.

Think it had anything to do with their sorry team NOT WINNING this year? Or was that game just poorly marketed?  ::)

I would love to see us hire Humpy Wheeler as a market consultant. He is older but still has a great mind for marketing. He played a major role in the growth of NASCAR in the Carolinas. The lack of marketing is one of my biggest gripes with our AD.

clt says today is his birthday
He has experience working for an asshole, too.

I should be ashamed, having taken 2 years of Latin at Charlotte Latin, but alas, that was a very long time ago (the early 80s).  Corrections made.

There was a 4th point I wanted to add, but it's stuck in the cobwebs of my mind at the moment.

EDIT:  oh yeah, #4:  more accountability for success in revenue sports.
