Calling for us to go 4-8 again which I think is fair.

As much as people hate to hear it, if we go 4-8 after losing that first class it's not an awful season. Losing that much leadership and experience is tough for any sort of program to go through.

However for the health of the program, we really either need to make a bowl, or win most of those 4 games at home.

little less than 3 mins of 49er talk.  Thinks we'll be favored in maybe 4 games and likely repeat last season's record of 4-8.  Too many senior losses to make noise this year but looking forward to "next year" already...

4-8  will be tolerable if it includes at least 3-3 at home, IMHO.

I bought the Steele book again and read his preview. Oddly, he ranks most of our units as amongst the worst in the league, then contradicts by saying everyone but the Dline and kicker should be as good or better. Strange logic.

DLine and kicking are important - hugely so. But I think if those two units surprise, we may do so as well.

The other downer is that he thinks our schedule is harder than last year, which may be true but I dunno if I see that yet.

I understand we lost our first two recruiting classes, but they were FCS players and not FBS so I would hope that our talent is much better than what we lost.  I know we got lucky on some players and you cannot replace experience, but talent should be overall an upgrade.

The schedule we will not know until we start the season.  Some teams will be better and others will be worse than predicted.  I hope that we are working on 6 wins to get to a ball game.

Having interned at ESPN Charlotte the Niners need to win it all or do something insane to get more than 5-10 minutes of coverage there.
MAKE THE NINERS GREAT AGAIN!
