Going to be ugly.

They didn't look like the #20 team this week against an fcs team,  but we'd need Mullen and son to miss the flight to have a chance.

Never mind the betting line, let's get to the real purpose of the game. How much are they paying us?

The only thing I'm looking forward to about this game is how we spend the money that KSTATE is paying us. Has to be around 700K or more I would think.

Maybe our offensive coordinator will order the fish on the flight over.

Unless we are taking the bus. you never know with Judy.

This thread would be better served posting beer specials. We're gonna need a lot.

Our only hope against a monstrous blowout is that Coach Snyder probably won't want to embarrass K-State alumns Lambert and Wallerstedt.

K-State isn't quite as good as the Louisville team we played last year, who could have probably scored 100 points on us if they wanted to, but we aren't as good as we were last year either.

I have never missed a televised game of ours, but I don't know if I can make myself watch this train wreck (i'm sure I still will since I'm a sucker for seeing our name and colors on TV.) My prediction, pain.

In order for Kansas St. to keep their playoff hopes going is to run up the score on teams that they should run it up on.  I doubt they step off the gas unless they are up by 40 or 50.  However, he will probably apologize since they are alumni.

Which number is higher, the number of tens of thousands of dollars k state is paying us, or the number of points they are going to score?

This is the best team we will have played in program history. They are a legitimate contender for the Big XII and even have an outside shot at a playoff spot. My fridge will be full and I have warned Shadow to expect a lot of screaming at the TV.

Per a USA Today piece, Central Arkansas was paid $400,000 for their trip to Manhattan.

Unless my wife threw it away recently, there's a copy of my 1990 Sports Illustrated Football Preview issue with Gordy Lockbaum of Holy Cross on the cover in the spare bedroom.

The main article was about the worst program in D1. It was Kansas State. Kansas State had never won a conference championship. Their best regular season record since WWII was 7-3. They had gone to one bowl game, in a year they finished 6-5-1. They were in the Big 8, not the Big 12. They didn't play the Texas schools every year, but were over-matched in their conference, even by Iowa State.

They had a new coach who had gone 1-10 in his first season. He provided some of the humorous anecdotes in the article. His name was Bill Snyder.

The turnaround Bill Snyder caused at Kansas State is the most impressive in college football since WWII. To win as long as he has at a school with so much against it is amazing.

FWIW, there were no Texas schools among the membership of the Big Eight.

Definitely correct that K-State has historically been a bad football program. Almost 70 years between conference championships in 1934 and 2003 and an overall losing  record of 518-635-41 since the Wildcats began play in 1896.

Snyder responsible for about 40% of those wins - 203 - since becoming head coach in 1989 and then coming out of a three year retirement in 2009 to lead the program again.
