Jaquan Miles 6'7" SG from NC still out there.
Ranked #9 by Phenom Hoops.
Cincy and Rhode Island offers.

Looks like a solid player who would be a dependable scorer.  Are we really pursuing him?

With the lack of recruiting news on Miles, I'd imagine there are some underlying issues for him.

I've been on the JJ Miles train for a while now, I know Gray has at least checked on him, don't know anything past that.

He just looks to me like he has a nose for the basket and reminds me a little of Javarris Barnett.......not thru growing yet.

He hasn't had any new offers at any level of DI since last summer which makes me think schools are backing off for non-basketball reasons.
Powerbait: But I would kill to have that level of discipline here. I'd kill even more to have a S16

Indian says "Don't judge the recruit until you have walked in Miles shoes".
The greatest boon in the popularity of Chapel Hill sports was the advent of cash registers that automatically figure change.

If he finishes "ONE" this year, it will be the first in two seasons for a Niner that isn't a guard !    ;D

Concerns me that he only averaged around 6 points a game.

We have 4 spots left and and 2 rising seniors. 2018 looks like a good year for us in terms of talented guys we have significant relationship with (i.e. guys we could sign early) so I could us wanting 3/4 scholarships available next year, assuming no transfers.

We definitely need another guard to replace what we hoped Brax would be last year. Ty Lazenby and Tyler Maye are the leading candidates there. I could also see us taking a transfer or two like Simeon Carter from Iowa State and Kwe Parker from UT (especially if we sign Lazenby since that'd only be one year of direct competition).

After that I don't see us going after any one else except a grad transfer.

Of course I now notice this was 2015-16 season.

It's only as good as the data put it, and that is extremely inconsistent.

He only averaged 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks per game and that concerned me as well.
Especially when he lost his starting job for a while and missed a few games so he may have had an injury.
But the team had 8 players averaging nearly 20 minutes per game, so he wasn't called on to do
the bulk of the scoring....more of a guard oriented offense like ours.
If he can have those numbers and play good defense the first year, it'll be a welcome addition.
Should be good for a few highlights and wake you the crowd from time to time as well.

Ah, DeVarte's stats. I thought you were talking Supica...

DeVarte was in a heavily guard dominated offense and rarely touched the ball. He was there for defense and rebounding.

Much like he will be asked to do here.
