Love to see that he is a great defender. Who recruited him? You have to give our assistants and Bobby credit, it's hard to reel in a top 150 guy coming off an 11-20 season, especially when you haven't made the tournament in 4 years.

Wow, all of a sudden we have a lot gaurds, I think we need another big man now.
"No more excuses, no more apologists, no more anything.... time to win or GTFO.  Part of a coaches job is managing a roster and player egos.  The fact that there were transfers, while not his fault, are part of the game and should not be an excuse for under-performing this year. "

the more the merrier:
2010 Departing Schollies:
Dijuan Harris
Ian Andersen
Rashad Coleman
*Phil Jones*

2010 Incoming Schollies:
Jamar Briscoe
Ge'lawn Guyn
*Trevin Parks*

**Circumstantial

Should be really deep at guard these next few years. I think the 3rd Schollie we have to fill at the moment should definitely being going to a center, who could hopefully spend a year backing up Phil or redshirting.

C-Pip's right.  About EVERYTHING.

Experience it. Enjoy it. Just don't fall for it.

I'm sure our focus will be on bringing in a big guy, but that is for another thread.

Sounds like it is a good thing he committed to us now, seems to be on the rise.  It is pretty amazing the turn recruiting has taken since Braswell committed.

For '10 we should be in good shape to land a pretty good big man.  Spears/Braswell/Jones will get most of the time, but two out of those three will be in their last year.  Good chance to pick up a highly rated player to play next to Braswell for a few years.

Wow, who saw that coming?  From reading the articles it seemed he was pretty interested in WKU and that they were his leader...

His rivals page says Kummer recruited him, which makes me feel good about someone not named Moxley snaring a top recruit for our class...Great job, can't wait to see him in green.

I would just say find a big that can play inside. Not too many true centers, and when they are, they are 5 stars....

i would love to try and go after david nyarsuk, who plays at one of the prep schools in north carolina. i know ohio state and tennesee are going after him so it might be tough but it just goes to show how hard it is to find a good center.

He is really the only guy that we'd have a shot at targeting if we're talking a Rivals Top 150 center. Somebody needs to call him up and tell him we are interested, and that even if he's not sure about us right now if he'll just hold off committing to another school and watch our program this year, maybe come out for a few games and see what's happening here, and then decide after the season has ended.

Sadly, now that he committed to a non-BCS school his stock will either stop moving up or fall, despite the fact that he's only going to get better. All in all, a great add. Now, where did I put my kool aid....

He's rated an 89 on scout. Braswell was a 90.

Is this guy as good as Braswell at their respective positions?

For comparison: Rashad Coleman was a 40 on scout, and Bowden was a 75.

a rating of forty means the guy hasent been evaluated. braswell was initally ranked a 95 and eventually dropped to a 90.

Hope this is one where we grabbed a talented player early in the process. Appears to be that way based on the attention he was starting to receive.

Hate to be the negative Nancy, but you kinda have to be to be a Niner's fan these days.  I'm always nervous when the "stock continues to rise" thing is thrown out.  All it seems to take is a BCS call and we're SOL.

He already had some contact with some BCS schools. Nothing is ever a done deal, but let's hope it is.
