Look at the box score horrible coaching last night!
« on: March 10, 2010, 12:50:25 PM »

Wilderness went 5-8 and scores 11 in the first half.  Plays almost none in the second half??? Bobby has lost his mind!  Instead gokin is allowed to hoist away. does anyone understand this?  Same for spears he should play 30+, what about the game he sat the whole first half?  can't foul out if your on the bench... good plan lutz.  We all know that we would rather chuck 3's than play to the inside game where the talent is.  Lutz can't stand to win with an inside attack, he would rather go 3-30 on 3's????  what if you took those 30 shots to the post?

I'm fed up, and to those who say write a check to get rid of him??? it's not the fans fault that we have a dumbass ad who keeps extending his contract!  Tell judy to write the check not the fans!!   We haven't won a tournament game in 10 years!

I was not at the game but I have read several posts from those at the game who mentioned this. It truely makes no sense. All I can figure is Bobby didn't think Wilderness gave us the best chance to win in the 2nd half.

haha, that was me. It was a quote from the shoutbox that I think Charlotte2002 made. It went something like this "Bobby Lutz's subbing patterns are like getting eyed up by the hottest girl at the bar 3 times and then walking out"

At the time we were discussing how Lutz would seemingly pull a player right as they would get hot and stick in a bench player only to kill the momentum.

I noticed this... Bobbly seriously doesn't know what he's doing with substitution patterns. Both Braswell and Spears sat out a lot... minutes they should've had instead.

Phil was playing better than both imo so I really don't have much issue with this.  Wilderness lack of minutes however really had me puzzled.

UMass adjusted their D and started packing it in, pretty much daring Wilderness and Dew to take a jump shot.  I too have questioned substitutions.  But not necessarily in this situation.  If you watched Wilderness for 3 years, his outside shot is not his strongest skill.  Some of the same people who complain about substitutions think Sirin should be getting more minutes.  He had some very open shots and just didn't make them.

Personally, the question I have is that I would have gone with JB.  He played 10 min vs Richmond, then only 1 against UMass.  Sirin played 0 min against Richmond, then played 9 against UMass.

I think Normmm was probably right all along, we'll be really good next year.

He was making his jump shots. He hit a 3 then hit another 3 but had his foot on the line. There was no reason to pull him yet. Maybe if he started missing, but he was actually shooting jumpers and making them.
