Smith in '14 and '15, both at home. #JCSU Isn't the primary requirement of something being "lost" that someone must first want to find it? I thought this was just for '14. Having them on the '15 schedule is very concerning. It either indicates we think it will take us to 2016 to move to FBS, or we can't find people to schedule us. If the latter is the case then that is very, very, very, very, very, super, uber, ultra, mega, giga bad.I thought you were the guru on all of this football stuff... Pretty sure we can't move up for at least 4 years by NCAA rules. That would be 2018 at earliest. And being out of a conference, there will be some weeks that are just tough to find a quality opponent I would think. I was thinking NCAA waiver, if an FBS conference wanted us it wouldn't be hard to get one. UTSA to the WAC is the example here. I just hate to see us schedule a DII so early. It's an admission that we're not expecting to go to the FCS Playoffs for our first 3 years. While that may be true, still not something fans want to see.Wonder what the exit clause is in this contract. Are we covering our bases just in case things don't work out? Can't be too much; after all, they're DII. Together it might be $100K per game. We won't back out of the '14 game anyway, so we'll see them at least once.

C-Pip's right. About EVERYTHING.
Every FCS school plays at least 1 non-D1 game, just like every FBS school plays one FCS school.
There is no count/not count criteria in FCS. FBS does so because of bowl eligibility. Certainly figures into your strength of schedule, but example of any school that made FCS playoffs in first 3 years at large?

Georgia Southern has been FCS "forever" and has a few National Titles. Their first 3 years of FCS/D1AA would be back when D1AA first began.
With the scheduling of this series, two games previously slated for 2014 have been rescheduled to new dates in the same season: The 49ers will play their season-opener at Campbell, Thursday night, Aug. 28 and the 49ers have shifted the Old Dominion home game to Sept. 20. Campbell will now be the 49ers season-opening opponent in each of the first two seasons.
Any chance we could make the FCS playoffs in 2013 or 2014?FCS to expand playoffs to 24 teamshttp://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7916865/football-championship-subdivision-set-expand-playoffs-24-teams-2013
What's the likelihood we could play Duke down the road in football? After a few years of FBS I'd like to think we could be competitive against them and start a winning record vs. ACC. This season they play FIU, Stanford, NC Central, and Memphis.
