Has Majerus had his annual whine fest about being in the A10 yet?
With his recent medical issues, the death of his mother, and getting the Billikens ready for their foreign trip (playing in Canada this week), hasn't had time to whine about the A-10.

Anyway, in other conference recruiting news, just when it looked like the Muskies might get 7-4 Sim Bhullar a year early, he's headed west after failing to qualify at Xavier for 2011-12!

I feel sorry for Davontae Watson because of what Mike Thorne is going to do to him.

Two years of persistance by Coach Martelli lands St. Joe's its first commit in 6-7 PF Isaiah Miles, who averaged 19 ppg, 13 rpg, 3 bpg and 1 spg as a junior last year.  Per the recruiting blog in The Baltimore Sun, he chose the Hawks over Richmond, NC State, and South Florida, among others.

I don't want to pull against Lutz, but it is funny when an A-10 cellar dweller gets a recuit they wanted.

FWIW, not always sure how accurate those blog reports are.  Still, sounds like a nice get for SJU.

Per Zagoria, picked Temple over Penn State, VT, and West Virginia.

Zagsblog.com: Quenton DeCosey Picks Temple

And from this NJ hoops blog:
Quote
HOOPS HAVEN SAYS: Excellent marriage. DeCosey has a Big East-quality skill set, and he’ll have an impact for Temple right away. And the Owls give him a chance to play in a high-profile program under a top coach, and do it close to home.
MyCentralJersey.com: St. Joes’ DeCosey stays local, picks Temple

2010-11 stats: 23.4 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 3.2 apg, 3.0 spg and 2.6 bpg

BTW, ESPN reports that 6-1 PG Teven Jones of A.L. Brown in Kannapolis (and prepping at Fishburne Academy in Viriginia this year) has committed to UVa.  Apparently blew up at a summer camp at Guilford and caught the attention of Tony Bennett & Co., with only other other interest coming from the D-III ranks up to that point.  Hmmm...

Per ESPN and Zagsblog, Dayton gets a Rivals top 150 player in 5-11 PG Jevon Thomas of NYC.  The one-time St. John's commit is prepping in NC at Quality Eduation Academy.  Chose Flyers over Penn State and Seton Hall.

Explorers get first commit in 6-9 C Jermaine Davis out of the Cleveland-metro area.  Only question is whether or not Dr. G will still be coaching in Philly after the upcoming season since you'd have to think he's THE coach on the "Hot Seat" in the A-10!

St. Joe's gets a verbal from former Purdue commit 6-2 PG Kyle Molock out of the Columbus, Ohio-metro area.  He is originally from Delaware and grew up watching Jameer Nelson and Delonte West play for the Hawks, so he's familiar with Martelli & Co., who have been after him for some time.

Rhody Rams get their first commit in Rivals Top 150 player in PF Jordan Hare out of Michigan.  Depending on which recruiting service, etc., you read, he's between 6-8 and 6-10.  Chose URI over Michigan, Michigan State, Bama, Mizzou, Stanford, UConn, and USC, among others.

Per Jeff Goodman's tweet at CBSSports.com, GW picks up a commit from 6-9 PF Kyprianos "Paris" Maragkos.  A member of the Greek U-18 team, he is playing at the Blue Ridge School in Virginia this year.  Haven't found a lot on him, but apparently he was on the Niners' radar per the following pieces.

Saint Louis gets a commit from Chicago-area PG Keith Carter.  Had originally committed to hometown Loyola over Creighton, but had a change of heart.  Didn't hurt that recently hired Billiken AHC Jim Whitesell is the former HC at Loyola of Chicago.

Updated list with couple of additions in 6-8 F/C Javon Baumann (Germany) to St. Joe's and 6-2 G Mandell Thomas (Rochester, NY/Notre Dame Prep) to Fordham.  Latter will sign in the spring and his father played at URI.

In addition, looks like all the early commits signed NLIs with the exception of UMass recruit (and one-time GW signee) Trey Davis.

And speaking of players named Trey Davis in the A-10, 2011-12 Richmond frosh F Trey Davis will redshirt this season, along with fellow freshmen F Alonzo Nelson-Odada and C Luke Piotrowski.  Hmmm...
