I talked to someone at the Observer (who shall not be named) and he said they have a press conference with the AD next week to (likely) announce the owner of the stadium naming rights. He didn't know when next week, but said it would most likely be Friday afternoon. He talked to Fernando Aguirre's office and they hinted they would be there at the press conference. The meeting will be held at the Chinese place next to Bojangle's next to Burger King.

In all seriousness though, what a POTENTIALLY exciting time this could be. We in reality could be naming a big corporate sponsor for our football stadium and a new FBS conference home within a few weeks/months.

Or, we could be doing none of the above... depends on the AD. Exciting to think about at least!

I have to admit, I understand the whole reasoning behind getting artificial turf, but I'm still a little sad the Niners won't play on real grass except at other venues.
