Seriously... football stadium story please...

I talked to someone at the Observer (who shall not be named) and he said they have a press conference with the AD next week to (likely) announce the owner of the stadium naming rights. He didn't know when next week, but said it would most likely be Friday afternoon. He talked to Fernando Aguirre's office and they hinted they would be there at the press conference. The meeting will be held at the Chinese place next to Bojangle's next to Burger King.

You would have had me... had I not already been expecting it.

In all seriousness though, what a POTENTIALLY exciting time this could be. We in reality could be naming a big corporate sponsor for our football stadium and a new FBS conference home within a few weeks/months.

Or, we could be doing none of the above... depends on the AD. Exciting to think about at least!

Welcome to "The Banana Hammock" on the campus of UNC Charlotte at Chiquita Stadium home to the Charlotte 49ers Football Team!

Fitting for the name of the other arena on campus...

 ;D

Fernando is wearing a 49er lapel pin in his twitter pics that's pretty awesome!!  Didn't like the Richmond Spiders lacrosse pic tho...haha
Looks like he might be confused by Chapel Hill already...

Boy I tell ya, not sure anything can annoy me quite like Observer comments. So many idiots and trolls. ...Why did I even read that....

Hadn't looked at it all week. That's good to see.  Everything is coming together nicely.

I can't take all the credit. Google Alerts did their part. Perhaps we should send Mike P. the link to Google?

I have to admit, I understand the whole reasoning behind getting artificial turf, but I'm still a little sad the Niners won't play on real grass except at other venues.
